Allah says in the Quran
"I did not create jinn and human beings except that they worship me" [51:56]
That is the only reason we were created but the big question is, are we really doing enough to please Allah (s.w)? If your answer is YES, Alhamdulillah, you can always do more... and if our answer is NO, then brothers and sisters, we really need to pull up our socks. Time is not on our side. Iblis is not on our side. We need to outpace iblis and act upon the Quran and the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, for no one knows when the Last Day will befall us!
If we do not try harder, who is going to save us from the shackles of the 21st century? Have you ever wondered why all these calamities are raining on us? Bloodshed, fatal hunger, deadly diseases, hatred among blood relatives, greed, immorality, oppression by the powerful… you name it! All this is because we have blindly neglected the true guidance of the Quran and Sunnah.
The prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) gave us the easiest way, the kalimah! Yet are we really utilizing this holy phrase? It is so easy to utter, but needs to be acted upon as well. Allah has given us the privilege to utter the kalimah five times daily in our swalah and the more we do so, the more reward we get. Subhanallah. Look at Allah’s Mercy! He gave us this kalimah as a ticket to Jannah. Yet we are more interested in dunya, this mundane, material world! Allah says in the Quran,”Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds that last are better with your lord for rewards and better in respect of hope” [18:46] We have been so deluded by this dunya that we have forgotten that one day we will return to Allah and we will have questions to answer! These are among the questions that every person will be asked;
Brothers and Sisters, I hope this little reminder will awaken some of us and transform our hearts for the better. Let us follow the Quran and Sunnah as our source of guidance and we will be successful. Allah says, "And indeed we have put forth every kind of example in this quran for mankind. But man is ever more quarrelsome than anything" [18:54-55] May Allah guide us to the straight path and save us from destruction, Ameen!
